(July 20, 2004) - Belz is excited to welcome to Peabody Place a new signature restaurant by famed Memphis restaurateur Jimmy Ishii. Located at 135 South Main Street, Bluefin Edge Cuisine and Sushi Lounge by Sekisui will bring cutting-edge world cuisine along with the city's first sushi lounge to downtown when it opens in September. Setting a new standard in contemporary dining, Bluefin brings an unmatched hipness to the downtown area. Ishii and Chef Danny Ikelman's joint creation promises to make a dynamic impact on all of the senses with its unique menu, sophisticated decor and the trendy sounds of local DJs. Starting with its expertly prepared cuisine made with local and exotic ingredients, Bluefin will serve up a diverse menu with such delicacies as Pistachio Crusted Razor Clams and Sake-Butter-Poached Black Bass. For dessert, try the Molten Chocolate Espresso Cake or a trio of Crème Brulée. Chef Minh Nguyen brings his sushi expertise to the downtown area. Guests will enter uncharted territory with the city's first sushi lounge, a space for relaxation, fine food and conversation. Whereas, the traditional lounge experience stops at ambient music and a cocktail, Bluefin adds sushi from the full sushi bar to the mix, bringing the hip west coast concept to Memphis. Local DJs will perform late on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. "We are pleased to welcome Bluefin by Sekisui.
