100 OAKS MALL HOSTS SIX WEEKS
OF HOLIDAY FUN WITH "CLAZZY" ACTIVITIES

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- (November, 2000) -- The 100 Oaks Mall is striving to be Nashville’s Holiday Headquarters with six weeks of activities starting on November 18. All of the Mall’s activities are geared to the entire family, with an emphasis on fun and festivity.

On Saturday, Nov. 18, WSM 95.5 FM will present the arrival of Santa Claus, who will hand out goodies to the children. The Elf Control Band will be playing festive tunes and the station will broadcast live from the event from 10 a.m. until noon. Santa will be available for photos on the second level, with free coloring books and crayons, beginning November 18. Call the mall office at 383-6002 for his hours.

The arrival of Santa also marks the grand opening of Clazzy Christmas on the Mall’s second level. More than just a Christmas store, Clazzy Christmas will feature live music, story-telling, a special activity area for kids, complimentary hot chocolate and the "Pithy Path," a walkway showcasing Christmas jokes and riddles. "Clazzy Christmas is what the Christmas experience should be for children and adults," said Andy Groveman, senior vice president with Belz Enterprises, owner of the 100 Oaks Mall. "Rather than standing in the middle of the mall waiting to see Santa, Clazzy Christmas offers entertainment, ambiance and a lot of magical fun."

Throughout the holiday season, Clazzy Christmas will present story-telling by the "Son of Santa," Russ Cring. Adorned in red velvet, he will be reading each day from "Mr. Kringle’s Tales," a book written exclusively for the 100 Oaks Clazzy Christmas Store. Mr. Cring will read 26 stories from "Mr. Kringle’s Tales" until Christmas Day arrives, a collection of sacred and traditional fables written for children, but also filled with adult insight and humor that the whole family will appreciate.

Families will want to visit the 100 Oaks Mall on Wednesday, November 22 when Operation Santa Claus brings five live reindeer, including Rudolph, for shoppers to see. The reindeer will be stationed near their beloved Santa Claus on the second level adjacent to the Clazzy Christmas store from noon until 6:00 p.m.

Families have the opportunity to have Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 2, from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. in the food court. Steak N’ Spud will be providing a hearty pancake and sausage breakfast, a perfect start to a day of marathon shopping. In addition, Techs the Robot and Santa’s Son, Russ Cring, will read a story for the kids, with KB Toys providing free coloring books.
