For more information, Belz Acquires New Memphis Retail Center Park Place Centre in East Memphis is getting a new look as well as new tenants, thanks to Belz Enterprises. Belz ended a tremendous year in 1996 by adding another shopping center to its vast portfolio of retail properties. Park Place Centre which has been a Memphis shopping landmark for years will be renovated to its original prominence. "Park Place Centre is the most sought after retail location in the city of Memphis," says Morris Thomas, vice president and director, Belz Brokerage and Leasing division. "It is located in the heart of East Memphis and has been a fixture in East Memphis for years. We are planning a complete overhaul of Park Place to revitalize it to what it has been known for in the past." When the renovation is complete, Oshman’s Sporting Goods, Park Place Cleaners, Wang’s, Union Planters Bank and First Tennessee Bank will remain in their present locations. Jenny Craig Weight Loss Center will relocate into a currently vacant space, and Loehman’s will undergo a major expansion and facelift. Most existing tenants will continue to operate through construction. Belz plans to fill Park Place Centre with nationally recognized restaurants and a mix of local, regional and national retailers as well. The renovation is scheduled for completion by Thanksgiving of this year, just in time for the flocks of holiday shoppers. ### |
