Title: Construction Begins on Lake Forest

Construction began in January on Lake Forest, a mixed use development focusing on neighborhood appeal and natural amenities, in what has become one of Tennessee’s most rapidly growing areas. The Belz Construction Services team is currently in the process of developing streets, sidewalks, lakes, parks, and walking trails and water, electrical and sewage facilities for the site, which should near completion as early as this summer.)  The first residential lots are expected to be available for new home construction by the fall. Additionally, developers anticipate the first phase of retail and the development of a community park to begin later this year. 

To keep up with traffic demands, Canada Road, the major thoroughfare intersecting Interstate 40 and leading to the development, has been expanded to a four-lane boulevard and now provides a more convenient avenue to Lake Forest. Belz continues to be encouraged by the population growth occurring in the area near Lake Forest. The surrounding communities are growing at rapid pace; population within a five-mile radius of Lake Forest has exceeded 64,000 people.

Located just off of Interstate 40 near Memphis, TN, the 125-acre Lake Forest development will include approximately 500 housing units – a mix of single-family homes, multi-family homes, zero lot-line houses, townhouses and lofts. In addition, commercial space, office space and a small hotel have been planned. The Shops at Lake Forest will feature a 200,000-square-foot retail center able to accommodate a neighborhood grocery store and other convenient services.

Retail opportunities will be available for both national and local retailers, banking centers, medical offices and other commercial entities. The development’s friendly neighborhood design will make it an ideal location for restaurants to serve as gathering points for families and friends. 

Lake Forest’s development plan will make good use of the area’s natural attractions, including lakes, streams, other water features and an extensive forested area. A series of walking and bicycle trails will wind through the neighborhood and lake system, providing tranquil retreats from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Numerous trees will shade the streets, giving them the traditional feel of years gone by.
