Goodyear Expanding to Better Serve Growing Customer Base

MEMPHIS, Tennessee, July 12, 2005 – Goodyear, a manufacturer and marketer of tires and automobile products for the transportation industry and various consumer and industrial markets, is expanding its warehouse facility at Belz Industrial Park. The company, which operates more than 90 plants in 28 countries, will expand its Memphis facility from 14,000 square feet to 30,000 square feet due to an increase in business.

“Goodyear’s expansion shows that companies with warehouse facilities in Memphis are benefiting from the city’s prime location and access to air, highway, water and rail distribution,” said Morris Thomas, vice president and director of brokerage and leasing for Belz. “This expansion is significant because such a prestigious and nationally recognized company has decided to commit long term to an inner-city location.”

The Goodyear facility serves as a distribution point for Eastern Tennessee, Northern Mississippi, and all of Arkansas. Approximately 25,000 tires flow through the facility a month

Belz Industrial Park, one of the major industrial parks in Shelby County, offers a strategically located concentration of both free-standing and multi-tenant buildings in Memphis.
