Post Office Opens in Peabody Place Tower
MEMPHIS, Tennessee, July 3, 2007 – The Peabody Place Postal Retail Center has opened in the lobby of the Peabody Place Tower, 100 Peabody Place.
The 4,070 square-foot Peabody Place Postal Retail Center is accessible from Main Street, as well as from the landscaped sidewalk adjacent to the ground parking lot. Conveniently located in the heart of the Central Business District, the Postal Retail Center at Peabody Place will offer convenience to downtown businesses, as well as the growing downtown residential community.
“We are very excited the post office is now open at Peabody Place,” said Andy Groveman, senior vice president of Belz. “It has convenient access, parking and a very visible location, and will provide a variety of valuable services to downtown residents and businesses in its new location. The Peabody Place complex, including the Retail and Entertainment Center, hotels, offices and numerous restaurants is the perfect location for the post office.”
The post office will offer full postal services, including stamp sales, priority and express mail shipping, passport services and post office box service.
The former location of the post office on Front Street will be the new home to the University of Memphis School of Law. Classes are tentatively set to begin in this location in the fall of 2009.
