- Educational Guides
Fast becoming a popular field trip destination for Memphis-area students,
the Peabody Place Museum has developed an educational activity guide
to help teachers prepare their students for the museum experience. The
guide is filled with useful information about a variety of the art objects
in the museum and important dates in Chinese history. The guide also
includes background information on Chinese language, folklore and songs,
as well as illustrations detailing the intricate process used to carve
jade. In addition, the guide features instructions on projects and activities
for students to do when they return to the classroom following their
visit to the museum.
- Luncheons and Afternoon Tea
At the Peabody Place Museum, groups of 25 or more can travel to an ancient
culture and feast their eyes on the exquisite treasures, then enjoy
their choice of a Chinese feast any emperor or empress would savor,
or a light contemporary lunch, or leisurely afternoon tea. For menu,

- Dynasty Room
The museums opulent Dynasty Room is a perfect location for meetings,
seminars, lectures, receptions and other special events. The Dynasty
Room can accommodate approximately 30 people for banquet-style seating

- Museum Gift Shop
The Peabody Place Museum Gift Shop is home to a wide variety of one-of-a-kind
gift items perfect for birthdays, anniversaries or any special occasion.
The shop features beautiful imported treasures such as ceramic and jade
sculptures, jewelry, lacquer boxes and a virtual managerie of intricately
designed cloisonné animals. Spend the afternoon in the museum,
then visit the gift shop and take some of our treasures home with you.
