Peabody Place Museum celebrates the Chinese Lunar New Year of Monkey. The Museum will observe Chinese New Year’s Day, which falls on January 22 this year, with free admission to the public from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The celebration will continue on Sunday, January 31, with a day of hands-on arts and crafts for children, special museum tours, story time and arts demonstrations.
Sunday’s festivities will also include lion and dragon dances at 1 p.m. in the Peabody Place Entertainment and Retail Center, followed by Chinese performances at the Center for Southern Folklore. Children will be admitted to the craft area for $2.00 with a paying adult. Museum admission is $5.00. Children under 12 will be admitted to the museum free of charge.
