FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MUVICO AT PEABODY PLACE ENTERTAINMENT AND RETAIL CENTER HOSTS 7TH ANNUAL INDIE MEMPHIS FILM FESTIVAL MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2004) - Muvico Peabody Place 22 Theaters will present the 2004 Indie Memphis Film Festival: The Soul of Southern Film from Friday, Oct. 22 through Thursday, Oct. 28. Indie Memphis Soul of Southern Film Festival, the only film festival dedicated to films of the Southern persuasion, will highlight more than 80 films about the South, shot in the South or made by Southerners. This year's weeklong lineup includes short, documentary, feature-length and experimental films by filmmakers from across the county as well as those in the Memphis area. Indie Memphis is an initiative of DeltaAxis, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting contemporary visual artists in the mid-South and Delta areas. The Indie Memphis Film Festival: The Soul of Southern Film is a juried film competition that focuses exclusively on exploring the expression of Southern themes and sensibilities through the art of filmmaking.
